TWO enterprising mums, fed up with what they viewed as poor quality school dinners, have set up their own business to provide lunches at Spaxton School.
Gilly Thomas and Jenny Hill created 4 Forks Catering and this week served up their 1,500th meal for the hungry youngsters.
The younger school children have their dinners served in the school hall and the older ones walk over to the nearby Spaxton Village Hall to be served theirs directly from the kitchen where they are made.
They have a varied and interesting menu that conforms with all the nutritional standards but that is tasty and uses local ingredients as much as possible; and it's going down a storm with the children.
Head teacher, Sally Evans, said: "I've never seen so many clean plates and happy satisfied faces."
