BRIDGWATER-based children's charity Brainwave is appealing for members of the public to volunteer to help out with a vital part of its fundraising.

The group, which provides support and care for children with brain injuries, runs regular collections at shopping centres and supermarkets, and needs more help to cover double bookings, holidays and sickness.

Volunteers - who will be fully trained - need to be flexible, enthusiastic, and have their own transport.

The charity's fundraising administrator Alexis Hawkes said: "Collections are an important part of our fundraising and it's is sad for us to have to pass up opportunities due to holidays and sickness."

Application forms for interested parties can be requested by calling 01278-457685, while more information about Brainwave is available from Alexis on 01278-762923.
