The Bray Cup attracted 79 entrants at Falmouth Golf Club on Saturday.

The hot sunny weather continued, and full credit must go to Head Greenkeeper Andrew Prowse and his team for keeping the greens at such a high staPaul ndard.

Paul Westall was the deserving winner. He set his stall out with a superb 24 points for the front nine and despite having a couple of “blobs” on the 10th and 14th holes he hung on to take the cup with a fine total of 43 points.

Runner up was John Essom with another good haul of 42 points with respective nines of 18 and 24 points including a birdie at the 11th. Third was Rob Noventa with 40 points (18 & 22) including a birdie at the 14th.

There were 58 birdies in total with Crispin Merritt jotting down five of them at the second, third, 11th. 13th and 15th holes. Callum Davis.

Andy Morris and Bob Richardson also had two`s at the second. Alistair Morris at the 7th while Phil Jones completed the two`s at the 12th. The easiest hole on the course was the 11th averaging + 0.27, where there were 15 birdies, and the most challenging hole was the 4th which averaged + 0.19 with no birdies.

This Saturday is Captain`s Day when a large turnout is anticipated.
