A man has died in hospital just a few hours after being found injured in Lanner.
The 49-year-old man, who lived in the area, was found lying unconscious in Bell Lane shortly before 8am today.
Ambulance staff had been called to the scene and paramedics then informed the police.
Officers attended and closed the road while initial enquiries were conducted into the incident.
The man had sustained a head injury and was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.
Police confirmed at 1pm that the man has now died.
Enquiries are continuing into the incident but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
A post mortem will be conducted tomorrow but initial indications have suggested that the man may have suffered what police described as "a medical episode."
