A match that would have seen Falmouth Town AFC’s manager marking his 300th game in charge has been postponed today due to bad weather.

Falmouth Town had been preparing to play Street FC at home in the Western League this afternoon (Saturday).

However, the match at Bickland Park has had to be postponed due to heavy rain resulting in a waterlogged pitch.

The announcement was made on Twitter, just over four hours before the 3pm kick-off, following an inspection of the pitch.

The club has said that a new date for the match will be arranged in due course.

It was meant to have been an historic occasion for boss Andrew Westgarth, who had been hoping to mark the 300-match milestone with a three-point win.

Falmouth currently sit 14th in the Western League Premier Division.

Town will now gear up for their Cornwall Senior Cup second round match on Wednesday, when they will entertain Wendron United at home.

Next Saturday they are due to play away to Laverstock & Ford in the FA Vase second round proper.
