In addition to Shanty Bands singing each hour on both Saturday and Sunday June 14 and 15 on Events Square, Discovery Quay, as part of the annual Falmouth Shanty Festival, there will be the first Charity Boat Auction at 2pm on Saturday and a BMW Mini Club Rally on Sunday.
The Auction will be conducted by Bonhams, on behalf of the Falmouth Marine School, whose various boats will be for sale.
They range from small clinker tenders to the impressive carvel luggers that have been built by the students.
All the boats will be displayed on the Square, outside the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, from Wednesday 11th June, for the public to view. Any interested potential bidders are required to register on the morning of the auction, on Events Square.
Welcoming this initiative, Andy Wyke, Boat Manager of NMMC said: "This is the first public boat auction to be held in Falmouth for many years and should generate considerable interest in the maritime world, possibly becoming an annual event."
The RNLI should benefit considerably from this weekend as all three elements have chosen them as their charity.
