Carrick council is calling on residents to give their views on open space including allotments.
A draft open space strategy sets out the vision, strategic priorities and proposed new standards for quality, quantity and accessibility of different types of open space in the district.
Councillor Chamberlain, environment portfolio holder said: "This is a really important document for the district as it has been informed by local people who participated in the consultation and focus group exercises. Once it has been adopted by the council we will be in a better position to prioritise existing and future resources to deliver greener, cleaner and safer open spaces."
He is also keen to see more allotments provided.
The strategy will also help to ensure that new development in the district either provide new open space and play areas within them or give the council a financial contribution to fund improvements to existing open spaces.
Copies of the strategy and the response form are available for download from Carrick's website www.carrick.gov.uk or telephoning 01872 224735.
All response forms must be returned no later July 2.
