The Royal Cornwall Show has been hit by the blue tongue protection zone delay.
Following an announcement by Defra it has been confirmed that the Blue Tongue Protection Zone will not be extended to Cornwall until after the 2008 Royal Cornwall Show has finished.
The consequence of this is that only cattle, sheep and goats from within Cornwall will be able to exhibit.
Pigs are not affected by these restrictions.
Show secretary Christopher Riddle said: "The slower-than anticipated expansion of the protection zone is due to less vaccine being available than was expected.
"It is extremely disappointing not to have the opportunity of welcoming those exhibitors from further afield but we shall nevertheless have a first class show with over 300 cattle together with over 200 hundred sheep entries (many of which are pairs etc) and a significant showing of goats."
