A dramatic finish at Newquay on Saturday saw Truro tie their Jolly's Drinks ECB Cornwall League game to remain fourth in the table.

Chasing 155 to win Truro needed seven off the last over but crucially lost Ben Price, caught in the deep for 46. Price was making a return after missing last year through injury. Chris Phillips managed the two required off the last ball for the tie.

Rob Harrison took two for 23 and Scott Steward two for 37. Tom Sharp made 32 and Neil Stoddard 29.

Earlier Joe Crane had made 36 with Graham Griffiths taking four for 46 and Sharp three for 20.

Truro entertain St Austell on Saturday with a 1pm start.

Newquay 154 (J Crane 36, B Purchase 26, R Harrison 25, extras 22; G Griffiths 4-46, T Sharp 3-20, C Phillips 2-25), Truro 154-8 (B Price 46, T Sharp 32, N Stoddard 29; R Harrison 2-23, S Steward 2-37). Newquay (12 points) tied with Truro (thirteen).

Grampound Road won a rain affected home game against Werrington by just ten runs with 10 balls remaining. Chris Hunkin made 54 as the "Road" reached 164 for 7 in their 42 overs.

Matt Robins made 23 and Mark Horwell 28 as Werrington reached 85 before losing their second wicket but the home side bounced back with Ben Rowse taking four for 19 and Hunkin three for 25.

Grampound Road are at home to Newquay on Saturday.

Grampound Road 164-7 (C Hunkin 54, M Sekhoto 27, T Hughes 25; B Smeeth 5-34), Werrington 154 (M Howell 28, M Robins 23, A Smeeth 23; B Rowse 4-19, C Hunkin 3-25, T Turner 2-34). Grampound Road (18 points) beat Werrington (six) by ten runs.

Grampound Road seconds were well beaten by County Division One leaders Camborne, going down by 136 runs at Roskear. Martin Roberts and Jamie Trudgeon took three wickets apiece as the home team totalled 210-8.

The "Road" innings slumped to 7 for 4 in 10 overs. Trudgeon made 23 and Tim Manhire 15 not out in the 74 all out.

Perranarworthal is the destination on Saturday for the "Road."

Truro seconds got back on track in division two east with an eight-run win over visiting St Blazey.

After losing both openers for 0 St Blazey recovered and were in with a chance before losing their last three wickets for one run.

Truro thirds are still without a win in division four after losing by 44 runs at Perranarworthal.

Truro fourths maintained their place in the leading pack in division six after beating Wendron seconds by four wickets at Boscawen Park.
