THE White Tigers got back to winning ways at Bolitho Park on Saturday with a last-gasp victory over Harrow Borough in the Southern League Premier South, writes Cameron Weldon.

Rocky Neal headed home an Adam Porter free kick deep into stoppage time to secure a vital three points for City as they move just two points behind league leaders Weston-super-Mare with a game in hand.

After a frustrating 3-1 defeat to Chesham United last weekend, which saw an end to their superb 16-game unbeaten run, City took on Harrow looking to bounce back.

They got off to the worst possible start though as the visitors from the capital opened the scoring.

Against the run of play, Harrow counter-attacked, and George Moore struck a sweet strike low into the bottom left-hand corner past a helpless James Hamon.

City responded superbly and were level inside 90 seconds of going behind.

Will Dean delivered an inviting corner which found its way to Ed Palmer at the back post who headed back across goal where Shane White was waiting to tap home from close range.

His third goal of the season.

Paul Wotton’s men then went in search of a second goal.

Porter played a great pass to the feet of Rocky Neal, but the forward’s effort went high over the cross bar.

Kyle Egan then charged down the right-hand side and delivered a great cross which Skipper Connor Riley-Lowe was mere inches from connecting with.

Harrow then had a similar crossed chance up the other end, but no one was there to tap home from close range.

On the brink of halftime, Neal was played in by Dean and he coolly slotted home past the keeper, but the offside flag was quickly raised to deny him.

Harrow Borough saw the better of the second half and came close, but Palmer was there to excellently block the shot and clear the danger.

Minutes later Palmer was celebrating up the other end as he headed in a Ryan Brett free kick but again it was ruled out, this time for an alleged foul by the big center-half.

Riley-Lowe then saw a bullet header go agonisingly wide of the post.

The visitors then came close to finding a late winner. A shot from distance was pushed out by Hamon to the feet of the Harrow forward but his rebounded shot hit the side netting.

Truro were the ones to find a winning goal though.

With 93 minutes on the clock, Porter’s free-kick was met by Neal who headed home past the keeper to ensure Wotton’s men claimed all 3 points.

They are next in action on Wednesday evening when they host Beaconsfield Town at Bolitho Park. (KO 7:45pm)
