Cornish company Celtic & Co has donated more than £3,500 to charities for Christmas.
The ethical fashion movement, Celtic & Co., has raised the funds for those most in need this Christmas.
The Cornwall-based natural, sustainable fashion brand has donated more than £3,000 to Newquay FoodBank, £500 to Little Harbour Hospice, and £80 to Save the Children.
Earlier this month, the Packet reported that Refined Brands, which is the parent company of Celtic & Co, has also taken over children's clothing company Frugi which was based in Helston.
Celtic & Co.’s managing director, Zoe Bray, said: “I’m very proud of our team for taking the lead on this year’s festive charity initiatives.
“The money for Newquay FoodBank and Little Harbour Hospice was raised from alternative Black Friday promotions which, rather than heavy discounting, focused on supporting families in our local area who are struggling with illness or the impact of the cost of living crisis.
“Our annual office Christmas Jumper Day, with donations made by staff then match-funded by the company, will also help support Save the Children’s work in the UK and around the world in providing children in need the future they deserve.”
Sam de Lange from Newquay Foodbank said: “Companies like Celtic & Co. are exactly what small communities need, not just to survive but to thrive. As well as providing jobs Celtic & Co. do a huge amount to help the community and we're incredibly grateful for their support.
“This £3,000 could not have come at a better time and will go towards our Christmas appeal, helping ensure that everyone in our community gets to enjoy a proper meal on Christmas Day.
“We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who made a purchase on Black Friday and helped raise this incredible sum.”
