The first day of the Royal Cornwall Show turned into a huge success with many agricultural companies doing brisk business and the visiting public enjoying every minute.
In the main ring there was little doubt that one of the main attractions was the parade of heavy horses each pulling a piece of machinery from more than a century ago.
A huge crowed gathered round the main ring to watch and listen to a commentary explaining each entry.
All have come from Cornwall, many from the Redruth, Lanner and Helston are and among them was heavy horse stalwart Cyril Eddy.
Tomorrow, the Princess Royal visits the showground and officially opens the new members' pavilion.
