A YOUNG boy from Cornwall has been presented with a signed shirt from his favourite rugby team after recovering from a head injury.
After Charlie Sample, 7, recently suffered a head injury accident at his home near Launceston, it was found he had a small skull fracture that had caused a bleed.
Moved to Bristol Children’s Hospital, the 7-year-old had an operation overnight and, since then, is now making a recovery and has returned home.
Charlie and his elder brothers Josh and Lewis have all played for Tavistock, whilst along with mum Hayley and dad Paul they are all passionate supporters of the Cornish Pirates.
Wishing him a speedy recovery, numerous messages from all over the world have been sent to Charlie, including a tweet from Harlequins and England player Danny Care.
Also, on Thursday, Cornish Pirates’ duo Arwel Robson and Carwyn Penny were delighted to visit Charlie at home, not only to put an extra big smile on the brave young man’s face, but to present him with a signed match shirt and card from all of the squad and staff.
