Circus Funtasia is returning to Cornwall for another season – and it’s bringing with it some old favourites for its tenth anniversary.

The circus is always a popular visitor to Helston, Pool, St Austell and Bude over the summer, and this year it comes off the back of performing on the Circus and Theatre Stage at Glastonbury Festival.

In news that is expected to delight fans, the infamous Globe of Death is back on the programme, after it had to be withdrawn last year when one of the motorcycle riders, Ivan, was injured in an accident in Exmouth, shortly before the circus arrived in Cornwall.

The circus has promised that not only will audiences see the motorcycles being ridden inside the metal spherical cage but Ivan is also due to perform a world record on the Pendulum of Doom – complete three somersaults, nine metres high of the ground.

Circus Funtasia, which this year celebrates ten years in business, said: “Bear witness to some amazing feats... Hear the roar of motorbike engines, feel the heat of the fire-breathers flames, see stunning aerialists and a hair raising performance on the Wheel of Death.

“Be enthralled by our energetic Cuban acrobatic troupe, heart-stopping roller skating duo and to top it off laugh out loud comedy by our award-winning comedian 'The Geek'.

“Ladies and gentlemen, take your seats! All the talent of a West End show, with irresistible circus magic.”

Tickets cost £12 for tiered seating and £15 for ringside seats, with weekday shows at 5pm and 7.30pm, and weekend shows at 1pm and 4pm.

In addition, its adults-only version, Cirque du Vulgar, is also back for 2023.

Featuring strip-tease routines, even more daredevil stunts and some filthy comedy, it blends modern circus acts with adult humour in a new show for 2023.

VIP tickets, which include ringside tables, interaction from the characters of Vulgar and one free drink, cost £30 each while individual tiered seating tickets are £20 each.

The show is for over 18s only and ID will be checked. Shows begin at 8.30pm.
