Redruth RFC's director of rugby, David Penberthy, said he was delighted that Mark Scrivener was returning to the club for next season.

Penberthy said: "This will be Mark's third spell with the club following a loan period back in 2002/2003 where he played a lead role in our Cornwall Cup winning side. Following that, Mark joined the Cornish Pirates but returned for the promotion winning season in 2004/2005. He eventually left the club to join the Cornish All Blacks and has figured regularly in the 1st XV squad.

"Mark is an excellent and proven fly half who kicks goals, he had a great County Shield campaign for Cornwall in May and will prove to be a great addition to our squad. We are very thankful to John Bealing Construction of Padstow for their support in enabling us to sign Mark."

Scrivener, who has been at the Cornish All Blacks for the past two seasons also said that he was delighted to be returning to his former club.

"I look forward to renewing old acquaintances both on and off the pitch and helping Redruth achieve success for the coming season. The Club has a tremendous tradition and the Recreation Ground on a Saturday is a great place to watch and play rugby. My thanks go to John Bealing Construction for their support."
