Just days a few days to go before one of the biggest alternative dance acts of the nineties and beyond hits the stage in Redruth.

Leftfield dance titans Leftfield will join modern dance music heroes Hot Chip on stage at Live at Scorrier House on Saturday (August 26) for a day of electronic music.

Leftfield released one of the most groundbreaking dance music albums of the nineties in Leftism.

Along with Underworld and Orbital they changed the face of dance music forever with tracks such as the classic Song for Life.

Their fame was cemented even further when one of their tracks Phat Planet, from their second classic album Rhythm and Stealth, was used on an iconic Guiness advert which featured 'wild sea horses'.

They are currently touring their latest album, the critically acclaimed This Is What We Do, but expect some old classics.

Neil Barnes one of the founding members of the band told the Packet: “[We're] very much looking forward to playing at LASH, we love 808 State and Hot Chip and we think it’s going to be a great night.

"Cornwall is a very special place for us, we’ve been to Cornwall so many times over the years, for work and family holidays.

"Sadly, our touring schedule this weekend means that we can't stick around for very long…wish we could though!

"Listen out for our mix on Vernon Kaye’s Dance Anthems on Radio 2 in October, we’ve recorded a mix for the show for you to relive the memories we’ll be creating in Cornwall this weekend!”

Hot Chip are known as the thinking person’s party band, who mix strobe-lit euphoria with reflective headphones melancholy.

Back for its second year after playing host to Groove Armada and Morcheeba last summer, Live at Scorrier House plans to deliver an amazing dance party for Cornwall.
