Hall for Cornwall teamed up with libraries across Cornwall Over October Half term to host a series of Peter Pan-themed workshops for young people.

Inspired by Hall for Cornwall’s 2023 Christmas Show, Peter Pan, the library sessions included stories, crafts, dances, and games for children of all ages.

Led by Hall for Cornwall’s Get Creative team, the workshops were attended by more than 500 children, with many dressing up as pirates, fairies, mermaids, and even Peter Pan himself.

A spokesperson from Cornwall Council said: "This year’s collaboration between the Cornwall Library Service and Hall for Cornwall has been fantastic. The Treasure Island Christmas show workshops were so well received last year that it made sense to continue the partnership with Peter Pan. Together, we're weaving the threads of story and imagination. With Hall for Cornwall’s help we’ve been inspiring young people by turning 10 libraries into a Neverland adventure.”

Julien Boast, Chief Executive of Hall for Cornwall, said: “Libraries are the backbone of culture in our communities. Hall for Cornwall and the Library Service share a vision around maximising the potential of communities across Cornwall. The Peter Pan library sessions have been a triumph."

Hall for Cornwall’s Christmas show Peter Pan is produced by Cornwall Playhouse Productions, with many cast and crew flying in from the local area.

The show, starring Edward Rowe as Captain Hook, Sara Markland as Tinker bell, and Falmouth University graduate Ollie MacFarlane as Peter Pan, opens on December 4 and runs until December 31.
