FOLLOWING a successful fundraising event for the Epworth Hall in Helston last month, another event to raise more funds will take place this weekend.

On Saturday, November 11, cast members each over the age of 50 will perform ‘Saga Sings Out’ a variety performance, including a section for Remembrance Day.

Rehearsals for Saga Sing’s Out are well underway for the performance which will start at 7.30pm at the Epworth Hall in Helston.

He said: “During the past year, the young people of Helston have treated us to two fantastic concerts to help raise funds for new seats at the Epworth Centre.

“If you have been fortunate enough to attend one of both of these evenings, you will know how brilliant they are and also how much the seats need replacing.

“Now it's the turn of a different generation to perform the same cause.

“Please lend us your support if you can; it will be different!”

At the time, Helston Central Methodist Church’s Rev Danny Reed who was just one of those five men who ‘braved the shave’ told the Packet: The evening went superbly, and we have approximately raised £6,500 raised for new seating in the Epworth Hall.

“I am so delighted that us head shavers and one leg wax raised over £6,000 for new seats in the Epworth Hall.

“So chuffed, thanks, everyone.”

Epworth Hall manager, Sarah Reed told the Packet: “The seats at the minute have a limited life span because they were bought second-hand and although they are great, a new set would give people with an added disability more help with a handrail mounted up the steps and lights on the steps to guide them during performances.”

Tickets for Saga Sings Out will cost £10 for adults and £7.50 for those under the age of 16. Tickets are available to buy now from Sarah Reed at epworthhallmissioner@gmail.com or by calling 01326 561140.
