IDLES have been announced as a headline act for the The Wyldes music festival in Cornwall next year.

The acclaimed band will be performing a headline show at the grassroots open-air venue on July 21, 2024.

This news comes shortly after the announcement of a worldwide tour for the group, as well as a slew of new headline shows at The Wyldes.

IDLES, who cut their teeth running and performing at Bristol nightclub Batcave, have retained a vivid local following.

Over the years, their growth in popularity is clear to see, leading to a debut album release in 2017 titled Brutalism, which received high praise.

Through continuous live performances and subsequent album releases, the band has cemented their reputation as formidable festival highlights.

The band's upcoming album TANGK, due for release in February 2024, is said to retain their distinctive approach but with a renewed emphasis on love, joy, and gratitude.

Their 2024 tour, which includes the return to The Wyldes in Cornwall, is anticipated to showcase their most profoundly moving live performances yet.

The Wyldes' founder, Mr Lee Ellis, expressed his commendations for IDLES, hailing their impressive energy during concerts and continuous improvement over the years.

He noted the band is receiving deserved attention.

Mr Ellis said: "Our festival-goers will be thrilled to see that IDLES are returning to The Wyldes on that date, which in previous years would have been Leopallooza Festival weekend."

The news comes just over a week after the festival announced Anne-Marie as the first headliner for next year.

Tickets for the July 21, 2024, show go on sale at 9am on December 8, 2023.

Pre-sale tickets will be available to The Wyldes mailing list subscribers from 10am on December 7.

The Wyldes takes place each year at Lower Exe Farm, Week St Mary, Bude, with the 10,000 capacity event site in a wooded valley in North Cornwall described by the band Keane as their ‘new favourite venue’ when they played in 2022,
