BBC Radio 2 broadcaster, Bob Harris, and former custodian of John Lennon's childhood home, Colin Hall, are bringing their theatre show to Penzance.

The Songs The Beatles Gave Away, set for January 14 at The Acorn, explores the songs that Sir Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison wrote for other artists.

Mr Harris of The Old Grey Whistle Test and Mr Hall will discuss hits like Cilla Black's Step Inside Love and Peter and Gordon's A World Without Love.

The theatre show is inspired by the BBC Radio 2 documentary hosted by Mr Harris' and Mr Halls' book of the same name.

Mr Harris has interviewed all The Beatles members and has the Fab Four as his most-played artist on radio.

Mr Hall, in his nearly 20-year tenure as custodian of John Lennon's childhood home in Liverpool, has interviewed Sir Paul McCartney and welcomed celebrities like Mark Hamill and Yoko Ono.

Mr Hall's book, The Songs The Beatles Gave Away, was named the Best of British book of the month earlier this year.

It garnered mentions on BBC Radio 4, Times Radio, and Sunday Express.

Coldplay's Chris Martin said: "Bob Harris is a straight-up legend".

Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin added: "His excitement and love of music and his infectious enthusiasm to bring his audience the rhyme, reason and sounds of a new world is a work of heart."
