Homes and businesses in Penzance have been left without electricity after a power cut in the area this morning (January 12).
According to the National Grid, more than 700 properties and businesses in the town have been left without power due to a High Voltage incident which tends to be larger and affect a wider area.
A report of a power cut was first raised this morning at 9.12am, with 704 Penzance properties without power. Engineers arrived at approximately 9.40am, and by 10.04am National Grid reported that 367 properties' power was restored. However, 336 are currently left without power.
National Grid is expecting all properties affected to be fully restored by 11am this morning.
On its website, National Grid has apologised to customers for the disruption. It reads: “ We are aware of this power cut incident which was raised at 9:12am this morning and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you.
“For any updates, please bookmark or revisit this page (National Grid website) as we will keep you updated with our progress and the latest information that we have regarding this incident.”
