The Great Estate, Cornwall's weird and wonderful celebration of music, has announced an impressive line-up of headline acts for this year's festival.

Iconic rockers The Darkness, legendary punk rockers The Stranglers, and the soulful grooves of Soul II Soul will be among the array of artists taking to the stage.

Additional performances will include offbeat exhibitions from Madame Wong’s Drag Race, Early Medieval Cornish Warband, along with the Great Lantern Parade.

The event will run from May 31 to June 2, 2024 in the picturesque Scorrier Estate in Cornwall.

Since its inaugural event in 2017, it has hosted bands, DJ’s and artists, thousands of partygoers, camels, and Mexican wrestlers.

In addition to the headliners, the festival will also offer a host of unconventional performances and activities including Victorian Sports Day, Fire Dancing, Burlesque and a new Supersized Silent Disco.

The Darkness, acclaimed for their debut album Permission to Land, will bring their quintessential rock sound to Cornwall.

A spokesperson for the event said: "The Darkness are as hot on rock fans' lips around the world now as they were all those years ago".

The Stranglers, who first came together in 1974 and became a staple in 70s punk, remain an influential force in music.

Their success is marked by 24 Top 40 singles and 19 Top 40 albums in a career spanning six different decades.

Soul II Soul, recognisable for chart-toppers such as Keep On Movin and Back To Life, are set to bring their distinctive bass and sound system culture to The Great Estate.

The Victorian Sports Day will transport attendees to an era of nostalgic games and activities, while the early medieval re-enactment group, Morvleydh, will delight crowds with dramatic enactments of Viking battles and Saxon invasions.
