Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in the early hours of this morning.

The man was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening nor changing following the assault in Albert Street in Camborne today, February 20.

Police were called to the road at around 4.50am after it was reported that a man had been seriously assaulted.

The road is currently cordoned off while police carry out enquiries.

Allan and Julie from In A Spin Launderette in Albert Street posted on Facebook: “Please note that you currently cannot access Albert Street from Wesley Street as it is closed off!!!

“We do not know if we can open today but we will update on here as soon as we are able to. Please do not attempt to arrive by car or on foot at this moment in time."

A spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Police told the Packet: "Police were called at 4.50am to Albert Street in Camborne following a report that a man had been seriously assaulted.

"He has been taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening or changing.

"A cordon remains in place and police are in the area carrying out enquiries.
