The first wave of this year’s line-up for the Wanderfal Festival has just been announced and it’s corker!

Highlights include post-punk art rockers Snapped Ankles whose last gig at The Cornish Bank has gone down in Bank folklore and UK Afro-Jazz nine piece Nubian lead by Tom Excell, fusing groove driven music with sound system culture and improvisation.

Also on the bill are punky garage rockers Holiday Ghosts, originally formed in Falmouth from the ashes of local heroes The Black Tambourines, but now based in Brighton and, hot on the heels of Guardian acclaim and the release of her new album Howl in March, is highly rated Cornish psych-folk singer Daisy Rickman.

Also appearing will be Cornish singer songwriter and feature film maker Martha Tilston, the daughter of folk legend Stephen Tilston.

Don’t miss phenomenal Welsh folk guitarist Gwennifer Raymonde who’s incredible skill on her instrument has to be seen to be believed. For fans of Skip James, John Fahey, Roscoe Holcomb and Mississippi John Hurt.

For those who fancy something a bit away from the folk another one to watch is Bingo Fury with his ‘off kilter’ lounge music or four-piece alternative rock band Flamingods from London and Bahrain.

Taking place over five stages, festival goers will literally be able to wander around Falmouth taking gigs at different places around the town.

All in all the festival takes in a whole gamut of music styles from Afrobeat to Krautrock over two days in April. So far more than 35 bands and artists have been announced.

Announcing the line-up, Cornish Bank co-owner and founder of the festival Rufus ?, said there would be something for everyone who loved music “With acts spanning five stages over two days, we've packed in a huge array of genres to wander amongst.

“From afrobeat to folk, psychedelia to nu-jazz, breakbeat to kraut and everything in between. “Journeying from near and far to perform for us, there will be some Bank favourites as well as artists you might not have heard yet - you may discover your new favourites!”

Wanderfal is now in its third year and takes place on April 12-13 over a number of venues including The Cornish Bank, Princess Pavilion, Beerwolf Books, curated by Clunk Magazine, Underland and The Poly.
