Update: February 22 - 16.17

The Packet has been informed that due to the road closure, there are long delays as well as some motorists finding themselves gridlocked.

A member of the public told the Packet: "Motorists should avoid Porkellis to Trenear Road as it’s gridlocked.

"I think people are getting stuck in floodwater and turning around as all traffic is being diverted off the A394 at Rame.”

Meanwhile, a post regarding the current situation was shared on Facebook. It reads: "Back roads gridlocked.

"No Police about directing traffic.

"I came through earlier and just a ‘Road Closed’ sign and three cones across the main road at the bottom of Retanna Hill.

"Coming back past Wendron FC now and carnage."

The Packet will provide more information when it becomes available.
