Iain Gahan, 43, who had been reported missing from the Camborne area, has been found safe by police.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "We would like to thank members of the public for their help." 


A man originally wanted in connection with an assault is now being treated as a missing person by police instead after police carried out enquiries.

Police originally put out an appeal to find Iain Gahan in connection with an assault that was said to have taken place.

However police now say, following further enquiries he is no longer wanted in connection with the assault and are treating him as a missing person.

They say officers and his family are concerned for his welfare and are appealing for the public's help in finding him.A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police are now treating Iain Gahan as a missing person and have launched a missing person enquiry.

"Iain was previously sought in connection with reports of an assault, however, following further enquiries, he is no longer wanted in connection with this incident.

"Officers and Iain’s family are concerned for his welfare and are seeking the public’s help to trace him.

"Iain is described as a 43-year-old white man, with a medium build and light/ginger hair. He is 6ft 2ins tall.

"He is from Camborne and was last seen in the area on Wednesday 21 February. He is also believed to have been seen in London on Saturday 24 February."

Anyone who sees Gahan is asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 999, quoting reference number 50240047622.
