A Truro business has been recognised by Dragons' Den star Theo Paphitis.

The firm, Exciting Teacher, is an education-focused enterprise founded by 27-year-old Channon Gray.

Ms Gray, who lives just outside of Helston, was recognised last year with the Small Business Sunday Award, launched by Mr Paphitis in 2010.

The scheme acknowledges six businesses per week and has endorsed over 3,500 small enterprises nationwide.

Now Ms Gray has attended the Annual Winners' Event in Birmingham.

There she officially accepted the certificate awarded to Exciting Teacher and engaged in a networking event which attracted 1,200 attendees.

She also had the opportunity to meet Theo Paphitis.

Channon Gray expressed her gratitude for the support, saying: "I’ve only been in business for two years as a Member’s based platform and I still work around my full-time role in the NHS working in Children’s Mental Health.

"It is great to have support from Theo as it has recognised all the hard work that is being put into Exciting Teacher once my 9-5 job ends!

"We are helping children across the globe to understand their emotions and I couldn’t be prouder."

Exciting Teacher began as an Instagram page in 2018 during Ms Gray's teacher training phase.

Five years later, it transformed into a global enterprise, which introduced its services in Australia in 2022.

Offering over 550 resources focused on mental health, emotional literacy, and wellbeing, it supports parents, teachers, and professionals across the globe.

Ms Gray, working in children's mental health for the NHS, operates Exciting Teacher alongside her full-time role.
