A police appeal has been launched following a burglary in a popular pub in Helston.

The police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a burglary in Wetherspoons.  

According to a statement on the Devon and Cornwall Police Neighbourhood Alert page, the incident took place between 1.30am and 2.30am on Friday, March 15.

It was said that offenders entered the popular pub in the town and stole alcohol.

However, it is not yet clear if any damage was caused to the inside and outside of the building on Coinagehall Street.

A statement from a force spokesperson reads: “Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a burglary in Wetherspoons, Helston.

“The incident, in which offenders entered the business and stole alcohol happened between 0130 and 0230 hours on Friday 15th March 2024.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the Devon & Cornwall Police website or by calling 101 quoting 50240062186. 

“Information can also be passed anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or reporting online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.”

A spokesperson from Wetherspoons said: "We can confirm that two youths entered the premises and took a few bottles from the bar.

"The pub’s CCTV cameras have the footage.

"Wetherspoon will assist the police in any way possible."
