Thousands of properties across Helston were left without power on Sunday monring. 

According to the National Grid, the power cut was due to a problem with the area’s ‘High Voltage’ network.

A post on the National Grid website said reports of the incident first came in at around 6.50am and it is believed it will be up and running by 12pm.

As of 9.15am on Sunday, 9,284 properties had been reconnected, but 235 were still left without power. 

The postcode areas affected by the power cut are as follows:

TR13 0QA

TR13 0SB

TR13 8BJ

TR13 8BL

TR13 8BP

TR13 8BS

TR13 8BT

TR13 8BX

TR13 8DL

TR13 8DR

TR13 8FP

TR13 8FR

TR13 8PWT

R13 8QA

TR13 8QG

TR13 8QU

TR13 8RH

This also includes properties in Carey Parc, Meneage Road, and Gweal Wartha along with many others.

In a post on its website, a spokesperson for the National Grid said on Sunday: “We are aware of this power cut incident which was raised at 6:35am this morning and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you.

“We will keep you updated with our progress and the latest information that we have regarding this incident.”
