A rising star of the classical guitar is set to play his first-ever concert in Cornwall.

Jack Hancher will be performing a solo concert at the Solomon Browne Hall in Mousehole on March 22.

Specialising in Spanish, South American, Albeniz and Bach, he is described by the Gendai Guitar Magazine as a "poet and a painter, colouring sounds out of the guitar as if his imagination and the guitar were one".

Mr Hancher won the prestigious gold medal of the Royal Overseas League Competition in 2022, making him only the third guitarist to bag the award.

His victory was followed by the 2021 tour of the European Guitar Festivals as a EuroStrings Artist.

Prior to this, he has performed on BBC Radio 3 and as a soloist with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra.
