The Falmouth Business Improvement District (BID) has revealed a series of free business sessions for firms.

Topics range from website wizardry, selling online, finance – useful tips post Spring Budget, and social media – get noticed, which will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The sessions are a 'led by Falmouth businesses for Falmouth businesses' scheme with the involvement of town-based agencies.

Richard Wilcox, executive director at Falmouth BID, said: “We have a vibrant business scene in Falmouth, with managers and owners passionate about what they do.

"It is of course one of the key reasons why Falmouth holds such appeal to visitors, residents, investors and students alike.

"And so we work to support their business plans, aspirations and ambitions with a range of innovative projects and ideas.

"The BID Means Business initiative is a partner-led approach to business upskilling and training, and one that we are excited to offer to our BID businesses.”

The collaborative, informal sessions will be an hour long, with a glass of wine promised afterwards.

Starting in April and extending through May, the agenda includes four sessions with more planned next autumn/winter.

The opening seminar on April 24 centres on social media, led by local marketing agency Eight Wire.

The following week, on May 1, attention turns to website optimisation.

On May 8, Falmouth agency Peaky Digital will discuss selling online, offering helpful tips for small businesses.

The final session, on May 15, will offer finance advice.

Sara Pugh, director of Eight Wire, said: "BID Means Business training will enable local businesses to keep their fingers on the pulse of change whilst providing the opportunity to up-skill employees."

All sessions will take place at the Atherton Suite, Old Post Office Building on The Moor.
