Police have explained why several officers were seen at a commercial property in Falmouth this afternoon (Sunday).

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were called to an incident at a business on Arwenack Street just before 2.30pm.

According to the police, a male suspect entered the premises and demanded money before leaving.

In what is proving to be a busy day for emergency services in Falmouth, just before 6pm this evening a member of the public reported hearing sirens and said the air ambulance had been circulating the town.

However, it thought at this stage that this is unconnected to the earlier incident in Falmouth.
