Black ice on the Croydon flyover has caused numerous cars to collide with lamp posts and the town's firefighters say they've tackled at least a dozen black-ice related collisions in the last week.
The driver of one vehicle was taken to Mayday Hospital to be treated for head injuries after his car skidded into a lamp post on the flyover on December 27.
The council closed the road for 30 minutes after the crashed car leaked oil over the flyover causing firemen to pour sand over the road to make the area safe.
The accident happened at 10am but earlier that morning firemen helped another driver whose car had skidded on the flyover.
On New Year's Eve, a driver had to be cut out of his car after it crashed into a lamp post and on New Year's Day, a car hit a keep left bollard situated at the end of the flyover.
Croydon firefighter Nick Morley said: "Recently the temperature has been fluctuating. You've only got to have a shower of rain and have the temperature drop for road surfaces to freeze over and catch people unawares."
The message from firefighters is be extra cautious and observe the road conditions as well as the speed limit.
