Falmouth opticians look back on last 15 years

Long serving staff members have been judged to be the key to success for a Falmouth opticians, as the store celebrates its 15th birthday.

Specsavers in Falmouth held an awards ceremony at the Falmouth Beach Resort Hotel to celebrate the opticians' anniversary and recognise staff members’ dedication.

During the event half of the store’s staff received flowers and chocolates for their long-service and consistent focus on customer satisfaction. When the 21 staff members’ experience is combined, the store offers an incredible 75 years of expertise.

Store director Paul McGrane said: “I’m proud to see so many of the team receiving our customer service awards. I believe investing in our staff has been the key to maintaining excellent standards of professionalism.”

With 14 years experience, store administrator Maree Moore has led the way. Mrs Moore said that in order to maintain staff motivation the opticians held weekly training sessions, where new equipment and products were introduced and areas of improvement were highlighted.

Other staff members to be recognised for their contribution included Katy Ayres and Sue Harvey for their seven and six years of service respectively, and Leonine Bax and Julie-Ann Hellyer for organising the World Parrots Trust Day, when staff dressed up as parrots to raise money for the charity that promotes the survival of all parrot species in the wild.
