1:18pm Friday 21st November 2008

Jonathan Cock, 23, spoke only to answer to his name when he appeared before Truro Crown Court this morning.

Cock, of Moor Vue Farm, Newbridge, Penzance was not asked to enter pleas to charges alleging that on September 20 last he murdered Truro businessman Adam Hustler and attempted to murder Mrs Amanda Hustler and their daughter, 20-year-old Danielle at their home at Porth Kea.

Judge Christopher Elwen ordered that a plea and case management hearing should be heard on February 20 next and adjourned Cock's trial to a date to be fixed.

Cock, a former RAF serviceman, was the former boyfriend of Danielle Hustler, whose 41-year-old father was managing director of the family's drain clearance company, Clear Flow. Mrs Hustler was shot in the back during the incident at the family's home in the hamlet of Porth Kea, on the outskirts of Truro, and spent some time in hospital. Danielle was uninjured.
