Monsoon conditions have hit west Cornwall this morning, with the Helston area bearing the brunt of it first thing this morning.
The rain is moving up the county, with Falmouth now seeing very heavy rain and thunder and lightning.
The storms began last night, with many people woken up by crashes of thunder in the early hours.
In Helston this morning there was flooding on the roads, with drains unable to cope and manhole covers reportedly lifting from the ground in places.
The white lines on many roads were also almost entirely obscured from view, as the streets turned into rivers.
As yet there have been no reports of collisions on the roads this morning as the result of the weather, but motorists have been advised to drive carefully. For the latest up to date forecast go to thepacket.co.uk/weather
