RNAS Culdrose team compete in Jersey marathon

Eight students and six instructors from RNAS Culdrose have raised over £500 for Help for Heroes by taking part in the Jersey Marathon.

They were all part of 750 Naval Air Squadron, which trains all future Royal Naval observers in their basic navigational skills before they go on to flying training in the Lynx, Merlin or Seaking helicopters.

As well as flying training the students get involved with community projects and charity events, and they decided to volunteer at the Jersey marathon where they could help as marshals and run in aid of Help for Heroes.

There was fierce competition between the teams, with the students not wanting to be beaten by their instructors.

The students were triumphant, coming in with a time of three hours 11 minutes, and twelfth place out of 235 teams. The staff followed with a time of three hours 25 minutes, coming twentieth overall.
