he winners of a competition to design a flag for Falmouth have been presented with their prizes.

The competition, jointly organised by Falmouth town council and town manger David Pollard, challenged people in the community to create a flag design that best represented Falmouth's heritage and future.

The winning design was then made into a full sized flag to flutter over the town hall.

The official launch at the end of last year saw 180 entries flooding in and all the entries were put on display in Falmouth Art Gallery and the hallway of the Municipal Building on The Moor.

The public then voted for their favourites to create a shortlist of entries with a panel of experts selecting the two winners.

Winner of the best overall flag, Claire Trotman, and winner of the student section, Mollie Fielding, aged 13, were presented with their cash prizes at the Falmouth Art Gallery by mayor Geoffery Evans on Friday.
