The subject, Human Form, resulted in a variety of interpretations when images were displayed at Thursday’s competition evening.

In the prints section, Richard Thomas from Helston, who judged the member’s work, gave first place to David Buckby’s Sitting Pretty, whilst Danielle Buckby took second place with Legs 11. Tony Perkins’ the Gardener was placed third. In the projected digital image class Peter Batson took first place with Contented, whilst David Buckby was second with Godrevy and Bryan Angove third with I’m Armless.

The general subject also received a wide variety of images and again it was David and Danielle Buckby scooping the honours in the print section; David taking first place with Monet’s bridge and Danielle second with Leapfrogging fun. Third place went to Anemone trio submitted by Bill Hunt.

Bill also took first and second place in the projected image section for a general subject with Cornish Cranebill, first and Symbidium second. Competition secretary Paul Young’s Mylor harbour, was judged third.

President Elizabeth Allen thanked Richard Thomas both for his excellent judging and the constructive, and often amusing comments about the work exhibited.

Members meet every Thursday at the Athenaeum Club, from 7.30pm. Visitors and prospective members are made very welcome.
