Park for Truro, Cornwall’s first permanent park and ride site, will be extending its operating times to run a late evening service for people who would like to enjoy the Christmas shopping experience, without the stress of trying to find a place to park.

The service will be extended, and frequency enhanced, to operate up to a 10 minute frequency for the City of Lights Festival on November 18 and then for late night shopping on the November 25, and December 2, 9, 16 and 23. The last service back to the site from the city centre will depart at 10.40pm.

Demand for the park and ride service was high last year prior to the City of Lights Festival and so passengers are encouraged to use the service as early as possible this year to ensure they get to the city centre prior to the start at 7pm.

Due to road closures, the Park for Truro service will not use the Victoria Square bus stop after 4pm on the Wednesdays stated above. At 4pm the service will begin operating to and from a temporary stop on Calenick Street, just around the corner from Victoria Square. Staff will be on hand to assist passengers at these stops.

Passengers wishing to catch other bus services from Victoria Square should contact the relevant operator to check their local arrangements for this time.

The Park for Truro service will be operating the following services over the Christmas and New Year period: Thursday 24 December – normal service.

Friday 25 December – no service.

Saturday 26 December – no service.

Sunday 27 December – no service.

Monday 28 December – service will operate, timetable TBC.

Tuesday 29-Thursday 31 December – normal service.

Friday 1 January – no service.

Saturday 2 January onwards – normal service resumes.
