Police are appealing for witnesses after a ten-year-old boy from Falmouth was involved in a hit and run incident earlier this month.

The boy was cycling along the road at Ponsharden, near the roundabout for Sainsbury's, with two friends at 5.30pm on November 2 when a silver car, thought to be either a Ford Focus or Fiesta, broke suddenly after coming out of the junction with Ponsharden industrial estate.

The boy, from Meadowbank Road, went into the back of the car, slid of his bike and fell down the side of the car. The driver then sped off, with one of the back tyres running over the boy's left arm. He suffered minor injuries.

The driver did not stop and police are keen for the person to come forward.

Any witnesses or anyone with information should also contact police on 08452 777444 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 ref 719 from November 2.
