A Truro nursery is celebrating an “amazing” year that has seen them win two national awards and be rated “outstanding” at their latest Ofsted inspection.

Happy Days Nursery at Penair was judged outstanding in all areas by inspectors while their work for the environment has been recognised after being named Green Nursery 2009 by Nursery Management Today magazine and winning the Bob the Builder competition Project Renovate.

Manager Paula May said: “This has been an incredible time for us and we’d like to thank all our families and staff for their commitment and support of the nursery, we look forward to lots of people joining us in our celebration.”

And Bob the Builder himself will be celebrating with the nursery on Saturday. They won the Project Renovate competition by detailing their work in recycling, reusing and composting and were awarded £15,000 to insulate the nursery.

The hard environmental work also helped Happy Days become the Green Nursery 2009. Staff travelled to London on Friday to celebrate the award.

The Christmas fair on Saturday is at the nursery from 11am until 3pm.
