Over 1,000 people crammed into Helston town centre on Friday night to see the switch on of this year's Christmas lights display.
Months of hard work from the town's lights committee, headed by Robert Williams, paid off as events ran smoothly.
Even the weather smiled on the town, with a dry few hours for the festivities despite rain earlier in the day and heavy storms later than night.
At 7.30pm on the dot the count down began, which ended with the town suddenly aglow in twinkling coloured Christmas lights, to the cheers of the crowd.
A fireworks display rounded off the big celebration, which was partly donated by Tesco and Wesley Bowden, of Bowdens Home Hardware.
