A St Martin farm was chosen to host the Cornish section of meetings teaching farmers more about dairy calving.
Defra and rural consultancy firm ADAS held two meetings over the course of one day at Tregevis Farm, the home of Andrew and Julie Bray and their family.
The sessions were called "managing the dairy cow at around calving.
Each meeting began with Nick Holt-Martyn from The Dairy Group introducing the guest speakers Chris Savery, national nutritionist with The Dairy Group and veterinary surgeon Alastair Hayton.
Groups of cows helped illustrate the discussion - cows in the late lactation, early dry period, pre-calving and early lactation.
