The celebrant and preacher for the Advent Sunday Parish Mass was Father John Harris.
The service began with the lighting of the Advent candle by university student, Emma Wood.
The first reading from Jeremiah, chapter 33 v 14-16 was given by Richard Hopper. The second from the first letter of Paul to the Thessalonians, chapter 3 v 9-13 was read by Roger Clarke. The gospel from Luke chapter 21, v 25-36 was proclaimed by Fr John.
Elliot Ashley, a student from the university led the prayers of intercession and the chalice assistants were Richard Hopper and John Hodge. Organist was Daniel Shermon.
Monthly communicants 408. Services for Sunday, December 6: 8am, low mass; 10am, parish mass; 6pm evensong with benediction.
