The Rev Andrew Hill preached at the first Sunday in Advent service.
The candle was lit by Samuel while the congregation sang the first two verses of “The Holly and the Ivy.”
Mr Hill played a game of Countdown with the children (adults joining in as well) and finished up with the nine letter word “adventure.” He took that for his message and pointed out that the Bible is a book of adventure with stories of danger, romance and happy endings, etc.
Ivy Johns played the organ and Marjorie Richards brought the flowers, Jessica and Aimee received the collection. Communion was administered at the close.
The coffee morning on Friday raised £155.40 for research into Crohn's Disease.
