Family Service for the First Sunday in Advent was conducted by Shirley Wearne and was accompanied by young musicians, Jetpack, under the leadership of Jenny Rapson at the piano. The young people performed a sketch to illustrate that the truly rich are those who are willing to meet Jesus. Lucy Phillips had a telephone conversation about how busy she was preparing for Christmas which allowed no time for the other person to tell her something important. Are we too busy with the worldly preparation to celebrate the real reason for Christmas?
Shirley presented Ten Commandments for Christmas and the congregation discussed what we could offer Jesus this Christmas. Maureen Hayward read from Psalm 25, v 1 to 10 and Margaret Eva was organist.
