The festive season will officially arrive in Cadgwith this Saturday as the Christmas lights are switched on in the village on the Lizard Peninsula.
Father Christmas will arrive with a sack full of presents for children after they walked through the village with lanterns and singing carols to get the celebrations underway before the lights are switched on.
Tim Hurst, from the Christmas lights committee, said: "They'll be switched on this Saturday to much merrymaking, carol singing, chestnut roasting and mulled wine drinking in the cove at Cadgwith, the heart of the village, at 6pm.
"It's a night not to be missed. It's a tradition going back decades and we're very grateful to those villagers who first started the idea.
"We hope to keep it going for decades more."
