TWO first-half goals from Chris Luxton and Bradley Wills were enough to give Cornwall victory in this South and West Counties Under-18 Championship.

Cornwall, who won this championship last year, controlled the game at Gala Parc on Saturday.

They took the lead on 28 minutes with a well-worked team move which saw former Newquay, and now Bodmin striker, Luxton fire home.

Wills, of Penzance FC, added a second just before the interval when he hit a 30-yard drive, which left visiting keeper Mike Neish with little chance of saving.

Dorset found a way back into the game midway through the second half through a Ryan Murray penalty but Cornwall missed a number of chances to extend their lead in the second half.

If the final group A placings come down to goal difference Cornwall may rue the chances missed Their next fixture is on Saturday March 13 at home to Wiltshire.
