Truro College students meet innovative school chef

Childcare students from Truro College visited Penair School to see the best ways to provide children with a healthy diet.

The level three diploma students met chef John Rankin and saw the school’s very own vegetable garden and butchery in the school’s kitchen where they store their own fresh meat.

Student Katy Vincent, an ex Penair School pupil said: “It’s changed a lot since I was a student at Penair. The food is healthier and I think the garden where they grow their own food was great, as the children learn where food actually comes from.”

Fellow student Jade Hay added: “It was good food, really tasty and a good price. This will encourage the children to eat more healthily.”
